Another gorgeous view on the east side of the Mt. Whitney. This is where John Muir Trail and the Mt. Whitney Trail are
one and the same. We see the Owens Valley and part of the Guitar Lake and Hitchcock Lakes.
Views such as this makes the grueling hike all worthwhile. However, at this
point of the climb you are not feeling that great because you are tired, the air is thin and the trail is full
of rubbles so that the feet are never touching the ground horizontally.
